JBL Wave Beam 2 Noise Cancelling Earbuds

The "Pure Bass" Sound Signature

At its heart, the Wave Beam 2 utilizes 8mm dynamic drivers tuned to JBL’s signature Pure Bass profile. This provides a punchy, high-energy low end that is particularly well-suited for pop, hip-hop, and electronic genres. Unlike cheaper competitors, the mids and highs remain crisp, preventing the bass from overwhelming the vocals. Through the JBL Headphones App, users can fine-tune this further with a full 10-band equalizer or choose from presets like "Vocal" or "Jazz."

Noise Control and Awareness

The Wave Beam 2 headline feature is Active Noise Cancelling (ANC). Using external microphones to monitor environmental sounds, it effectively filters out low-frequency hums like airplane engines, traffic, or office air conditioners.

• Smart Ambient: Includes Ambient Aware, which amplifies external sounds for safety while walking near traffic.

• TalkThru: Instantly lowers the music volume and amplifies voices, allowing you to have a conversation without removing the earbuds.

Call Quality and Connectivity

The Wave Beam 2 features a robust 4-microphone system (two per earbud). These beamforming mics are designed to isolate your voice from background wind and chatter, a major upgrade from the single-mic systems found in older budget models. Connectivity is handled by Bluetooth 5.3, supporting Multipoint Connection. This allows you to stay connected to your laptop for a video call and your phone for music, switching between them seamlessly. It also supports Google Fast Pair and Microsoft Swift Pair for instant setup.

Endurance and Durability

Battery life is a standout, offering up to 40 hours of total playback (10 hours in the buds + 30 in the case) with ANC off. With ANC enabled, you still get a respectable 32 hours total. If you're running low, a 10-minute Speed Charge provides 3 hours of playtime. The earbuds carry an IP54 rating, making them resistant to both dust and water splashes, while the case is IPX2 rated. This makes them fully viable for intense workouts or commuting in light rain.
