• Magnetic Pairing and Charging: Pencil 2nd Generation magnetically attaches to the side of compatible iPads for automatic pairing, charging, and storage.² This is a major convenience improvement over the 1st generation, which charged via the Lightning port.
• Double-Tap Gesture: Pencil 2nd Generation  features an intuitive touch surface that supports a double-tap gesture.³ This can be customized to switch between your current tool and the eraser, the last used tool, or show the color palette in supported apps.⁴
• Precision and Low Latency: Pencil 2nd Generation offers pixel-perfect precision, industry-leading low latency, pressure sensitivity (for varied stroke thickness), and tilt sensitivity (for shading).⁵
• Design: It has a flat edge (for magnetic attachment) and a matte finish, making it comfortable to hold and less likely to roll away.
• Apple Pencil Hover: On certain iPad Pro and iPad Air models, it supports the Apple Pencil hover feature, allowing you to preview your mark before you make it.
